Surprise Valley. S 1/2 of N.E. 1/4 of Sec 11 and area of Sec 12, Township 42 N. R.16 E. Also homestead claim W 1/2 of N.E. 1/4 Sec 11, Twp 42 R.16 E. Ditch commencing about a quarter mile from mouth of Wright Canyon. Ditch fifteen inches wide and eight inches deep.
Notice: Know all men by these presents, that I, James M. Hornback, of Surprise Valley, Modoc County, California, have this day located and appropriated for general irrigation purposes four hundred (400) inches (measured under a four inch pressure) of the water flowing in Wright Creek and running into natural channel through my claim, described as the S 1/2 of N.E. 1/4 of Sec 11 Twp 42 N. R. 16 E. and Sec 12... Said water claim is established in addition for the purpose of conveying whenever found necessary, as much water as useful upon my homestead claim W 1/2 of N.E. 1/4 Sec 11, Twp 42 R.16 E. by means of a ditch commencing about a quarter of a mile from the mouth of Wright Canyon, on said creek and extending upon my homestead claim.
