Notice is hereby given to all whom it may concern, that I David F. Johnson, have this day claimed and appropriated, and by these presents to claim and appropriate for domestic and agricultural purposes, three hundred (300) inches of water (measured under a four inch pressure). Said water to be taken out of Pine Creek in Hot Spring Valley, Modoc County, and State of California by means of a ditch three feet wide and me and one half feet deep. Said ditch to commence at the point at which Pine Creek crosses the west side of the ranch now claimed by Theodore Lyons and running thence in a north and westerly direction through the W 1/2 of Section 23 and the N 1/2 of Section 22, Twp 42 Range 13 East; to the ranch claimed and occupied by me. Dated Oct. 3rd 1874. David F. Johnson. At request of D.F. Johnson filed for record this 3rd day of October A.D. 1874 at 55 minutes past four o'clock P.M. and recorded this 5th day of October, A.D. 1874 at 20 minutes past eleven o'clock A.M. N. FitzGerald, Recorder.
