State of California, County of Modoc, Lake City, Township, this seventh day of August in year A.D. 1874. This is to certify that I have taken one hundred inches of water running in a creek situated on the east side of Surprise Valley, posted my notice and commenced my ditch, which is to convey water on to my Ranch for irrigating purposes. My Ranch is the S.E. 1/4 of Section 12, Township No. 46 North Range No. 16 East, Mount Diablo Meridian; the same is for my own special benefit. Paul Lieberman. At request of Jno. M. Saunders, filed this Aug 14th, A.D. 1874 at 10 minutes past 12 o'clock M. and recorded this 15th day of August A.D. 1874 at 15 minutes past 8 o'clock A.M. N. FitzGerald, Recorder.
