Know all men by these presents, that I George W. Dudley of Hot Spring Valley, County of Modoc, State of California, have this day claimed and appropriated and do hereby claim and appropriate for the purpose of irrigation, two hundred (200) inches (measured under a four inch pressure) of the waters flowing in Pitt River within said County.
Notes: Hot Spring Valley. Flume: 2 feet high, 4 feet wide for 4 rods. Then ditch: 2 feet wide, 8 inches deep, south side of river, southwesterly. Diversion about 300 yards NE of SE corner of claim. Range reads '16' but Hot Spring Valley + Pitt River suggests likely R10E. Attested by N. FitzGerald. Dated February 20, 1877.
