That I William R. Smith of Surprise Valley have claimed and located Forty inches of the water flowing in the Stream Known as Snow Creek for purposes of irrigation on the NW1/4 Sec 18, Township 43 North, Range 16 East. The water to be diverted by a ditch twelve inches wide, and eight inches deep. All persons are notified not to trespass upon said Water Right, the said water having been used for the past three years or more. Dated June 5th A.D. 1876. Wm. R. Smith, Claimant.
