Notice is hereby given that I have this day, to wit the seventh day of September A.D. 1874, claimed and appropriated one hundred and fifty inches of water, now running in the stream known as Pine Creek in the Frase Valley, Modoc County, California, that I have claimed the right to said water by constructing a ditch which shall commence at the same place that the old Franchamp ditch commenced, that is at the mouth of Pine Creek Canyon, said ditch being an extension of my old ditch and water right (never recorded in Siskiyou County) and terminating on the Ranch owned by me and situated in what E 1/4 of S.E. 1/4 of Sec 14, and S.W. 1/4 of S.E. 1/4 of Sec 22, and N.W. 1/4 of R.E. 1/4 of Sec 27, and the C.E. 1/4 of the E 1/2 of Sec 22, on Township 43 North of Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Meridian, in said Modoc County, State of California. Said ditch being 8 feet wide and one (1) foot deep, and said water being claimed for purposes of irrigation. Wm. L. Cantrell Sr. Filed for Record at request of Wm. Cantrell, Sr. this 1st day of September A.D. 1874 at eight o'clock A.M. and recorded the 1st day of September A.D. 1874 at 25 minutes past three o'clock P.M. N. FitzGerald, Recorder.
