NOTICE OF APPROPRIATION OF WATER. notice is hereby given that, in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the state of california respecting water rights the undersigned ha appropriated and hereby claim all of the surplus water, flowing in said sand creek in Surprise Valley in the county of Modoc, State of california, measured under a four-inch pressure.

Notes: Lafayette Dodge SECOND Sand Creek claim (first was page 174, May 1911 on surplus water). Now spelling is 'Lafayette' (corrected from 'Lafayett'). Claims ALL SURPLUS water again. Note section 31 — same T43N R17E as first claim but different section. Witness S.E. Farmer — Samuel E. Farmer from the Farmer/McDaniel group claim (page 210) who also claims Sand Creek.
