This water right does not appear in California's eWRIMS database. The holder likely has not filed
a Statement of Diversion and Use with the State Water Resources Control Board. Pre-1914 rights are
only in eWRIMS if holders voluntarily filed — many have not, making these rights less visible to the state.
Notice is hereby given that we the undersigned locators appropriate and claim all the waters herein flowing to the extent of 700 inches, more or less, measured under a four inch pressure, we propose to use the water claimed for irrigation and most central place will be Township 45, Range 17 Section 1.
Notes: KAFADER FAMILY group claim — 4 co-claimants including 3 Kafaders and J.H. Foreman. NO water source named — very unusual, just 'all the waters herein flowing.' Very brief document, minimal detail. Louis Kafader (who witnessed Fox's Twelve Mile Creek claim, page 168) is likely related. T45N R17E Sec 1 is in extreme NE Modoc County near Nevada border. Filed at request of E.S. Kafader. '700 inches, more or less' — hedging language unusual for formal claims. March 25, 1911.
