Know all men by these presents that we James Cox and Martin Kelley of Modoc Co. Cal. have this day located for the purpose of irrigating 265 acres of stock, five thousand (5000) inches measured under a four inch pressure of the water flowing in the North Fork of Pit River at this point at a stake and copy of this notice situated at or near the middle of the NE half of SE quarter of NW quarter in Section 11 in Township 45 N R 15 East, D.M.M. in Modoc County, California...
Notes: Very large claim - 5000 inches. Ditch and flume described as 3 feet wide and 3 feet deep. Commencing at above described point on the west bank of said River, crossing by flume to the east side of said River at or near the NE corner of said Section 21. Water to be conveyed by ditch for a distance of 150 yards then emptied into a natural channel following said channel to the flume at or near said Section 21. Dated Sept 10th A.D. 1879.
