Know all men by these presents that I J. Leonard have on the 13th day of March A.D. 1873 on my own right and as the successor in interest of J.J. Lane H. Walles and E.H. Barnes... located and claimed... one hundred (100) inches to be measured under a four inch pressure of the water flowing in Davis Creek situated in Goose Lake Valley County of Modoc State of California.
Notes: Successor claim — Leonard inherited rights from J.J. Lane, H. Walles, and E.H. Barnes successively. Two ditches: one on North Fork of Davis Creek (60 inches, 12 inches wide, 9 inches deep) and one on Middle Fork (40 inches, 12 inches wide, 6 inches deep). Water in quiet possession since March 15 1873 (5+ years). Dated around April 1878.
