James L. Riddler

Know all men by these presents, that I James L. Riddler of Hot Spring Valley, Modoc County, California, have and do here by claim and appropriate for the purpose of irrigation and for watering stock, all of the water, not exceeding 50 inches measured under a four inch pressure, of the western fork or tributary of Dorr Creek; that I have continuously used and had uninterrupted possession of the said water for the three years last past as a prior and first appropriator. And to further establish my right to said water, I hereby declare that I will divert said water from the said tributary by means of a dam and ditch at a point to the west line or fences, more or less South and west of the N.W. corner of my Homestead Claim.
