To all whom these presents may concern; know ye, that I, Geo. H. Ayres, a citizen of the United States of Fort Bidwell, Cal do hereby declare and publish as a legal notice to all the world, that the surprise valley Power and Irrigation Company, a corporation, has a valid right to the occupancy, possession and enjoyment of that certain tunnel site, located October 23rd 1909 for the conveyance of water from Pelican or Cow head lake to Lane Canyon thence to surprise Valley Modoc County, California.

NE end 700 ft from lake shore. 1/4 corner between Secs 31-32, T47N R17E bears N 61°30'E 1832 ft from SW end. Claims mineral rights: 1500 ft on each lode discovered during tunnel construction. Witness A.E. Pieb. This is the ACTUAL INFRASTRUCTURE for the 14+ Cowhead Lake water claims.
