State of California, County of Modoc. May 23rd 1874. Notice is hereby given that I the undersigned, claim all the water in two creeks that naturally flow across my Ranch. One is known as Shartel Creek and flows from the mountain across Lot 1 of S.A. 1/4 of Section 30, and the other flows across Lot 2 of N.E. 1/4 of Section 30. T. 45 N. R. 16 E. from Mount Diablo Meridian. I claim said water for irrigating purposes and intend to use the same whenever the land requires it. William Shartel. Filed for Record at request of Jno. Mark May 27th 1874 at sixteen minutes past 10 o'clock A.M. N. FitzGerald, Recorder. Recorded July 6th A.D. 1874 at 29 minutes past two o'clock P.M. N. FitzGerald, Recorder.
