Transcription
Know all men by these presents that I F.W. Chapin have this day claimed five hundred (500) inches of the water of the North Fork of Bidwell Creek (to be measured under a four inch pressure). The said water to be diverted from the stream opposite to this notice and conveyed by means of flume and ditch (20) twenty inches wide and (8) inches deep to the land of the undersigned in sections 4, 5 and 9 Township 45 North Range 16 East and is to be used for irrigation and domestic purposes. Bidwell, Modoc Co. Cal. F.W. Chapin, Claimant. March 18th A.D. 1879.
