NOTICE OF APPROPRIATION OF WATER. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the State of California respecting water rights, the undersigned, has appropriated, and hereby claim all of the surplus water flowing from what is called Pitzhugh Canyon in the County of Modoc, State of California, measured under a four-inch pressure.

Notes: R.C. Caddel — claims ALL SURPLUS water from Pitzhugh Canyon (unusual spelling — possibly Fitzhugh Canyon, a local variant). Irrigates across two townships (T40N and T39N). Diversion point in Sec 8 T40N but irrigated lands in Sec 35 T40N and Sec 2 T39N — southeasterly flow. Witnesses A.W. Asher (who had own claim on page 253) and E.V. Graven. Dated May 31, 1915.
