Notice is hereby given that I Andrew J. Meyers have this 30th day of August A.D. 1876 taken and claimed all of the first water flowing in the Ditch known as Peddler's Ditch or the North tributary of Clover Creek, including all the waters from the several tributaries of said Peddler's Creek, to the extent of forty inches, measured under a four inch pressure, for purposes of irrigation, for stock water, and household uses upon my claims of one hundred and sixty acres of land taken up and claimed under the preemption Laws of the United States, situated upon said Peddler's Creek, beginning at the North East or Northern boundary line of the Homestead of James E. Peddler, thence running North. All of which is situated in the County of Modoc, State of California. This said water I will divert from its natural channel by means of a ditch, twelve inches wide and six inches deep, running through and over a portion of said claims.
