State Database (eWRIMS)

Not in state DB

This water right does not appear in California's eWRIMS database. The holder likely has not filed a Statement of Diversion and Use with the State Water Resources Control Board. Pre-1914 rights are only in eWRIMS if holders voluntarily filed — many have not, making these rights less visible to the state.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS; That I C.W. Williams of Modoc County, State of California the undersigned do hereby claim 250 inches of water measured under a four inch pressure of the water flowing in the south fork of Pitt River. By permission from John Bergstrom in the year 1879 I enlarged the ditch and diverted said water from the south fork of Pitt river at a point and place described by said John Bergstrom in a water notice recorded in book 1 page 52 of water claims, records of Modoc County, Cal.

Notes: DERIVATIVE RIGHT — built on John Bergstrom's existing ditch from Book 1 page 52. Williams enlarged the ditch with Bergstrom's permission in 1879 and has used it since. Perfecting 30 years of use. Cross-references Book 1 p.52. Filed and recorded same day. One of the few claims explicitly acknowledging another water right holder's infrastructure.
